Raven Electrick is a lively and entertaining e-zine featuring short stories and poems in the fantasy, science fiction, horror and mystery genres. After seven years of e-publishing, Raven has recently spawned a new venture, Raven Electrick Ink, a print publishing sister, who's just launched her first book. Details about both projects follow.

Ink's Sporty Spec: Games of the Fantastic views sports and games with a speculative twist, in prophesied futures, parallel presents, and imagined pasts. From tennis matches with Death to chess games with Oberon, from free throws with the Fairy Court to surfing with werewolves, every sport imaginable (and a few unimaginable) exist within this speculative city of games. More information on the anthology is available on the Sporty Spec page.

Raven Electrick, in its e-flavor, has eclectic tastes, with subgenres ranging from "cyberpunk" to "cozy" sleuth, sword and sorcery to hardboiled "noir," space opera to vampire yarn, and anything in between. Raven discriminates only on the basis of good writing.

Authors, Raven Electrick uses a one-month annual submission period, usually in February or March, to help deal with the volume of submissions. Please see the wRiter's Guidelines for complete details.

If you'd like to hear what others are saying about Raven Electrick, check out the rave review at SFReader.com. To quote reviewer Lady E., "The Editorial Alchemists here mingle Ancient and modern tales, twining the Primal to the technological, the ordinary to the Mysterious, in a way that can only be described as indelibly unique.... An outstanding site."

Why, Raven is blushing! (By the way, there's only one "Editorial Alchemist." You can read more about her by clicking Karen A. Romanko, and you can learn about her first poetry collection by following the link to Raven's Runes.)
